About Vertical & Horizantal

What is from Wikipedia
In topography, the angle made by two ground lines is measured horizontally, and is called a horizontal angle. Horizontal angles are usually expressed in degrees. A full circle is divided into 360 degrees, abbreviated as 360°.  Let's look at the picture. the line called "x", we can act it as horizontal angle, and line "y" is vertical angle. In fact, there is no absolute vertical or horizontal angle, just because of the angle what you are looking at the moment. So there must be a reference when you look at something.

EXAMPLE and My opinion

Frontal, involved
This is a direct gaze from Audrey Hepburn. When you see it , you feel like that she is looking at you as well and you are involved at the moment. As a viewer, maybe we are talking, chatting. Anyway, i feel comfortable and relax from Audrey's eye contact.

Oblique, detached
Here is a another picture about Audrey Hepburn. But it is an indirect gaze. I feel kind of detachment betweenmy own and represented participant in this picture. I just like a bystander, she is wearing her earing, may be making up in ladies room. And she has no idea who is looking at her.  I think what oblique meaning is as a spectator to view the environment around you.

About Symbolism

  What is from Wikipedia
A symbol is something such as an object, picture represents something else by association, resemblance, or convention. Any object has their own meaning, and there may be a different object when several objects combined together which has different meaning.  For example, one word is a symbol, and many words get together, it will be a new word that has a new meaning.
A symbol's meaning may be modified by various factors including popular usage, history, and contextual intent.

EXAMPLE and My opinion

Freedom
the Statue of Liberty from USA, as we know, it is a gift from France to America, it hold high the torch just like saying"FREEDOM".
Power
This is also really popular all over the world. And it comes from Egypt. In ancient Egypt, Pharoah grasp the high right in the country. So that is why i choose this pic.

Man
Toilet sign, in every public rest room, you can find this pic on the door of toilet. May be a little bit different, but they say the same word "Male toilet".

Woman
As same as "Male toilet", this pic say"Female toilet".

Symbolism- My work

Absolute:  the word"p" in the middle means "parking", you know, in many public places there are not lots of spaces for parking, some of them limited people to parkingin carpark, so i get inspiration from this situation. And the sign means "no parking here". I think "absolute" similar with exactly, but not too strong as "exactly".

Infinite/Infinity: this sign looks like the environment protection symbol, yes, that is what i want to say. Just as environment, we should always keep our earth clear to survive generation by generation. That is a heavy work and we could not stop it. I use green because it is a health color, represent fresh and hope. You can see that arrows are directing the others before it, never stop.

Blind: i really have no idea about this one. Finally i think about the letter "b", i'm not sure if it is work. but it is simple and darkness enough, normally there are two holes inside letter "b", and i fill dark in them, so that looks like the letter has no eyes, it could not see anything any more.

White Rabbit Gallery

Location: 30 Balfour St. Chippendale
Opening times : Thursday – Sunday
                             10am – 6pm
Entry fee: $0.
Theme of White Rabbit Gallery:
Contemporary Chinese art produced after 2000.
History of White Rabbit Gallery:
In late 1990s,the origins of the Collection  came when Judith Neilson engaged Wang Zhiyuan who  is a Chinese artist then living in Sydney, as her art tutor. He introduced her to the astonishing explosion of creativity taking place in China in the wake of the “Opening Up” that had begun in 1989. Mrs Neilson began buying works, but soon ran out of space to hang them. She and her husband then decided to open a gallery that would make the exciting world of contemporary Chinese art available to all Australians.
The other hand, only a fraction of the Collection is on show at any time. And the entire contents of the gallery are rehung twice a year.

It is a cloudy day, it's cool, and my first feeling about the gallery is cool. From outside of the gallery, we can see a modern building just like normal modern style, located may be USA, may be Europe, may be Australia, may be China. But while you go inside, it exactly made in China. Tea house, T-shirt and sculptures, you feel like in China at the moment. It should be highlight here is that those little stuffs on the old cart just in front of  reception, did you see? Really old, really impressive for us 80s generation. They makes me remember my childhood, fullfill with happiness and freedom...

My favourite art:
       Artist: Gade
He was born in Lhasa, Tibet in 1971, lives and works in Tibet.Gade is half Chinese, but it’s the Tibetan tradition that he embraces, and “Tibet’s anonymous ancient artists” that he reveres. In his quiet way, however, he also rebels against the rigidly religious nature of tradition, and the chokehold it retains on many outsiders’ view of Tibet.
At the first seeing this painting, it just looks like a pic in temple, as Tibet mysteric style. If you see carefully, there are lots of different kinds of stuffs in the painting, such as mobile phone, noodles, coffee, cup, poker and so on, nothing relevance. Actually i confused with this painting what exactly the artist want to express. Anyway, it still has glamour for me. Buddhism is really mystery and gorgeous. Whatever, it is good to keep believe in heart, right?

My least favourite art:
     Artist:Chen Chunmu
He born in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province in 1981.Chen Chunmu says he is “soft and sensitive”, and his art shares the same qualities. Both are products of the moist, fertile climate of southern China.
This serie of pictures is really ........ I know that art has no  criteria, but please let me ignore these picture. Because in picture, the skin of ostrich, or meaning women? is really disgusting.  The other side, artist used Chinese ink to draw the pic. In my opinion, he must be very good at drawing, the reason is that he can draw such vivid character though it is so nauseated, and Chinese ink is not that easy to control.

Suzy's stupid winter

After

Before

My stupid PS picture. The original one is a scene in winter, we can see bridge, river and many many trees, old trees, i think.Even it is winter, u still can see color green on trees, but not that fresh. Actually i do not know what exactly i want. It does not make sense for me, a sense-less girl. There are some purple, dark blue and pink in the first picture, and it looks not reality, and a little bit like old photo.

As a website learner, i also like the composition of this web, background color is white, and some black lines draw with hand.

App. Graph. Design-Participants

This is a painting download from Internet.

1.Viewer
I think everyone is the viewer when you have a look at this picture, include the person who draw it. In my opinion, wow, this is a colorful picture and full fill with stuffs, you can see a girl first of all, and flowers, butterflies, havest and peoples who may be sitting, may be talking, may be walking or by bike.  Yellow and orange are the main color used in the pic. From girl's eyes, i can see happieness and something fragrant.  Perhaps she is angle, to help people living in Midgard....Anyway it shows me a harmonious, no crime, no gambling, no blood, only happy life, and it indicated the aspire about glorious life of people.

2.Producer
Unfortunatlly, i didn't the people who create this wonder picture. But, it is a painting, mostly it comes from Europe, because people's life style in picture look like England's, the hat, umbrella and dresses.

3.Represented
It is a big harvest, the young girl has a deep aspire of harmonious life, not only the girl, but also express human beings' wishes in deep heart. There is no war, just have a good life in peaceful time.
